The program “Marian Anderson: A Song of Dignity and Grace” won a 2011 Award of Distinction in the 17th Annual Communicator Awards. This award is presented for projects that exceed industry standards in quality and achievement.
In this award-winning video, Day of Discovery examines the life of singer Marian

From the stage of the Metropolitan Opera to the banks of the Jordan River, this inspiring DVD takes you on an incredible journey spanning the Great Depression to the Civil Rights Movement.
“I always bear in mind that my mission is to leave behind me the kind of impression that will make it easier for those who follow.” —Marian Anderson
The Communicator Awards is the leading international creative awards program honoring excellence for communication professionals. The awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA). Entries are judged by evaluating distinction in creative work.
Day of Discovery has also been honored with a 2011 Videographer Clapboard Award of Excellence in the Religious/Documentary category, this one for “The Dawning: Christianity in the Roman Empire.”
In “The Dawning,” Day of Discovery takes a close look at the struggles faced by early Christians. Dr. Joseph Stowell, president of Cornerstone University, takes viewers on an amazing journey to modern-day Rome to share the story of the early believers’ community, compassion, and endurance.
The Videographer Clapboard Award is an international competition and one of the most coveted awards in the video industry, attracting thousands of submissions from production and communication professionals. The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) judges the competition. The purpose is to recognize hardworking, creative companies, individuals, and their clients.
